Our theme for 2019-2020 is the Year of Awakening. We are learning to practice the ways of Jesus together through exercising spiritual habits. Each TABLE night, we teach on a new spiritual habit.
What do you think of when you hear the phrase, ‘Spiritual disciplines’? A list of chores to obey or rituals to follow? In the end, spiritual disciplines and habits are about the pursuit of intimacy with God.
“Ministry for God without intimacy with God is nothing but religion without relationship.” – Jason Ballard
In our distracted age it is hard to live with discipline. Jesus himself engaged in a wide variety of habits and rhythms during His public ministry. We can look and see that it took Jesus discipline in His dependency upon the Father to live out spiritual habits, therefore we must learn and follow His ways. As we do the spiritual habits then become our ‘yes’ to God’s invitation into experience true life.
