Ready for an intercultural experience?
Did you know that almost 5,000 international students are enrolled in University of Alberta alone? While studying overseas is fun, it can also be lonely for students who are homesick and are trying to navigate language and cultural barriers.
Beulah’s international student program exists to offer the church a way to love and care for international students. For students, it’s a great way to meet Canadian hosts, be part of a family and find a place to belong. For the Canadian hosts, it’s a chance to learn about a different culture and country, but most importantly, it’s an opportunity to start a friendship with an international student that may have a lasting impact.
We are looking for volunteer hosts who can offer hospitality and friendship to international students. The minimum commitment for volunteer hosts is to meet with your student for a meal or a recreational activity at least four times a year (ideally around Christmas, Easter and two other days. Many international students don’t have family in Edmonton to celebrate the holidays with.)
Interested in becoming a volunteer? Please fill out the form below and we will be in touch to give you more information about the program. We look forward to partnering with you!
